Did you know…(1st Edition)

Before the Civil Air Patrol had cadets in formation and structured training programs, it started with a simple idea during World War II.

Regular Americans took to the skies to protect their country.

In 1941, civilian pilots volunteered their own aircraft. They flew coastal patrol missions, searched for enemy submarines, delivered supplies, and helped rescue survivors at sea. They were not active duty military. They were everyday people stepping up when it mattered most.

That mission of service still exists today. It has grown into something even bigger.

Civil Air Patrol now serves as the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force with three core missions:

✈️ Emergency Services

Search and rescue, disaster response, and real world missions that save lives

🎓 Cadet Programs

Leadership, discipline, and character development for the next generation

🚀 Aerospace Education

Inspiring future aviators, engineers, and innovators

From coastal patrols in wartime to shaping future leaders today, Civil Air Patrol is built on service, dedication, and stepping up when others will not.

Thank you Civil Air Patrol for all that you do!
